eBlaster Details
Once installed on the computer you wish to monitor, eBlaster records instant messages, chats, emails, keystrokes, programs run and web sites visited – then once every hour, few hours, or once a day, sends these recordings to your email address. Anywhere you have access to your email (at work, at home, on vacation), you have access to what your family member or employee is doing on the Internet.
In addition, eBlaster AUTOMATICALLY and INSTANTLY copies you on all instant messages, chats and emails that are exchanged on the monitored computer. As an example, if your son gets home from school and has a chat conversation at 3:15 PM with a guy named Harold, you will receive an exact copy of that chat in your email within seconds. If you see anything inappropriate, you can take immediate action.
One of the things we find very appealing about eBlaster is that we don’t have to remember to check the recordings, because they show up in our email. With all other products we have examined, you have to take the action of reviewing the recordings, and it is sometimes easy to forget to do this.
We also like the great summary reports that eBlaster provides. We have setup eBlaster to send us a Summary Report once a day, and this gives us a very good picture of what the users are doing on the computers we are monitoring.
One drawback to eBlaster is that it doesn’t take screen snapshots. But, we understand those would not do much good in an email report.
Stealth Protection
eBlaster also has a Super-Stealth mode very similar to that offered by Spector Pro.
eBlaster does not show up in your program list, and its files do not show up on your hard drive. Further, eBlaster does not show up in your system tray, and it cannot be removed using the Add/Remove feature of Windows.
In fact, once the recordings are sent to your email address, they are removed from the monitored computer, and this improves the stealthiness of eBlaster and decreases the chances your recordings will be tampered with.
Customer Support
SpectorSoft provides technical support 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, by toll-free telephone, email, chat and via a very extensive knowledge base. No other company we have encountered offers such breadth and depth of support.
The Bottom Line
eBlaster is the best of the remote monitoring software products we have examined. It does exactly what it is advertised to do. If there is one feature we would like to see, it would be for eBlaster to find a way to provide screen snapshots. It is for that reason that we give eBlaster our runner-up, or second place award, in the overall Internet monitoring category. Visit SpectorSoft

In these cases, you need access to the recordings on a fairly regular basis, but you don't have physical access to the computer on a regular basis. If these computers are set up on a network, then a product like Spector Pro is still ideal, because Spector Pro allows the recordings to be viewed across the
network.
